After Christmas....

Today is Monday, the day after Christmas.
We spent our Christmas at my brother-in-law Jimmy’s house. He is here in Florida at Ft. Myers Beach. He also had a few friends from his condo-complex along with us. It was a good time. The food was good and the company was better.
I got a new camera for Christmas and I am in the process of trying to learn how to use it. Maybe the next post will have some pictures to share. We’ll see.
Well, that’s about it for now so, until New Years.

Christmas 2011

Christmas 2011 is getting closer to being gone for this year. I always look forward to this holiday because it means to me that family could get together and reflect on the good times in our lives.
Unfortunately, the family is spread out and the only two that will get together is us and Jimmy. Jack is in Michigan, Billy in Chicago and Paulie is in Lansing. They have their own family to visit and as it once was where everyone would gather at our house for drink, food, and fun is no longer the case. We are in Florida now but truth be told even if we still lived in Chicago, no one would come anyway. Oh well, the older we get the busier we are I guess and family sometimes falls by the wayside. Maybe next year.
This Christmas we are going by Nancy’s brother Jim for Christmas. He and Donna are spending the winter at Ft. Myers Beach. It looks like it will be a good day.
I am still scooting around on my scooter, unable to put any weight on my foot. I see the doctor this coming Tuesday and I am optimistic that he will say it is ok to walk on it. Al least a little bit. At least that is my Christmas wish.

I went to the doctor to have y stitches out. I really thought I would be able to walk on it BUT instead I was given a big assed boot that I need to wear at least until the 20th. That is when I go back.
I will probably have x-rays to make sure everything is in the right place and hopefully I will be able to abandon the boot, put my Roll-a-Bout away (for good I hope) and start going places.
I have some Christmas shopping to do and only a few days to do it.
